Tall Ships #2This is a featured page

The tall ship pictures are being shared by Butch Garren. His son Shawn who works for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was assigned to keep spectators at a safe distance from the Tall Ships which were on their way to Baltimore a few years back. Shawn was given permission to take his Dad along for the day. As you would have it, the weather was down right nasty, gray and cold with some razor sharp rain drops bent on a horizontal attack. There were no spectators, because of the weather, which allowed the Garrens' to have a close encounter that day with the beautiful tall ships. As Butch explained it, it was extremely rough out in those waters but Shawn skillfully skippered his DNR vessel so that the pictures could be taken. These pictures were taken only a couple miles East of where the Solomons Island Model Boat Club (SIMBC) has their home at the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM) http://calvertmarinemuseum.com/ in Solomons, MD.
